Terms and Conditions

By booking a lesson with Music Step Academy, the Student (or Student’s parent or carer, as applicable) agrees to the following terms and conditions:

  1. Agency: Music Step Academy Ltd. acts as an agency for teachers. When booking through Music Step Academy, students enter a direct contractual relationship with the Teacher. Music Step Academy facilitates the booking process, transmits relevant details to the Teacher, confirms lessons, and assists with payment. An agency fee is charged to the Teacher.
  1. Lessons: Lessons will be provided at the agreed location, date, duration, and time. These details will be determined in advance by Music Step Academy Ltd, the Teacher, and the Student (or the Student’s parent or carer, as applicable). Written confirmation should be obtained.
  1. Payment of Fees: The Student (or the Student’s parent or carer, as applicable) must pay the full amount for each lesson or block of lessons in advance. Payment can be made through the online booking system or bank transfer to Music Step Academy Ltd.
  1. Pricing: Music Step Academy Ltd. may increase agency fees with at least one week’s written notice before the increase takes effect. The Student (or the Student’s parent or carer) will receive a new price list reflecting the change. Lessons booked prior to any price changes will be charged at the agreed-upon price.
  1. Discounts and Promotions: Music Step Academy Ltd. may offer discounted rates or promotions, which are valid until their expiration or until Music Step Academy Ltd. ceases to offer them. Continued availability of discounted rates is not guaranteed.
  1. Refunds: Lesson fees are generally non-refundable. However, refunds may be considered in exceptional circumstances, such as lesson cancellation due to the Teacher’s illness or unavailability, if a suitable replacement cannot be arranged. Refunds are at the discretion of the Teacher and Music Step Academy Ltd.
  1. Rescheduling: Lessons can be rescheduled if the Student (or the Student’s parent or carer) provides at least 48 hours’ written notice. Rescheduling with less than 48 hours’ notice may be considered in exceptional circumstances, subject to the Teacher and Music Step Academy Ltd.’s discretion. If Music Step Academy Ltd. cancels a lesson, the Student (or the Student’s parent or carer) may choose between a replacement lesson or a refund.
  1. Packages: Before the first lesson of each package, Music Step Academy Ltd. will provide written confirmation of the scheduled dates and times for all lessons included in that package, upon receiving full payment.
  1. Teachers: Music Step Academy Ltd. will connect the Student with a suitable teacher based on mutual agreement between the Student (or the Student’s parent or carer, as applicable) and the Teacher. If a scheduled teacher is unavailable, Music Step Academy Ltd. will endeavor to find a suitable replacement from its pool of teachers. To change teachers, written notice must be given at least one week in advance of the next scheduled lesson.
  1. Examinations, Competitions, Auditions, and Public Performances: The Student cannot participate in any of these activities without prior written consent from the Teacher, Music Step Academy Ltd, and the Student (and the Student’s parent or carer, where applicable). Fees for such activities must be paid to Music Step Academy Ltd. by the specified date to ensure entry.
  1. Termination of Tuition: This Agreement can be terminated by mutual consent, non-payment of fees, or written notice given by either the Teacher, Music Step Academy Ltd., or the Student (or the Student’s parent or carer). Immediate termination may occur if fees are not paid on time. Termination within 48 hours of a scheduled lesson requires payment for that lesson, unless otherwise agreed.
  1. Conduct: If the Teacher or Music Step Academy Ltd. determines that tuition cannot continue due to unreasonable conduct by the Student or anyone connected with the Student, fees for outstanding lessons will not be refunded.
  1. Communication: Written notices may be given on paper, by email, or by SMS text message. In the case of SMS text messages, the recipient must acknowledge receipt.
  1. Changes: Any changes to the tuition agreement must be confirmed in writing and agreed upon by the Teacher, Music Step Academy Ltd., and the Student (or the Student’s parent or carer, as applicable). Changes will be reflected in the Terms and Conditions accessible on the Music Step Academy website or through the online booking system.
  1. Governing Law and Jurisdiction: This agreement is subject to the laws of the jurisdiction where the lessons take place. Both parties agree that any dispute relating to this Agreement will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in that jurisdiction.
